Jude 17-24
But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, (ESV)
by Paula Reynolds
A lot of times we have people in our lives who mock our faith. They wonder how we can believe in a God whom we cannot see. Through their eyes he does nothing for us. However, these verses should encourage us to keep ourselves in the love of God. We should continually build up our faith holding to the promise of eternal life. Those who don’t have faith in Christ measure their success by the things of this world. Don’t lose hope because our reward is far greater than the wealth of the whole world, eternal life.
