Proverbs 2:1-5
2:1 My son, if you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice for understanding,
if you seek it like silver
and search for it as for hidden treasures,
then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God. (ESV)

The idea of calling out for insight and crying out for understanding, as you would look for silver or a hidden treasure seems especially convicting. So often, we search after things of this world with all of our beings. We throw ourselves into jobs, relationships, families, things, and whatever else we seek. It sometimes seems as though life is a big treasure hunt and we are always looking for a bigger and better treasure. God wants us to call out to him for wisdom and understanding. And that truly is a treasure!
