Hebrews 2:1-4
2:1 Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. It seems easy sometimes to take Christianity for granted. In order to live the Christian life, we must daily remember God’s words and instructions to us, and take nothing for granted. We committed to live our lives for him and that involves living out our faith and being able to answer to God and to others for our actions. If the answer we have to give does not line up with God’s word, we are poor witnesses; instead of drawing others closer to God, we may push them away, costing their salvation.
