Lamentations 3:25-33
The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
It is good for a man that he bear
the yoke in his youth.
Let him sit alone in silence
when it is laid on him;
let him put his mouth in the dust—
there may yet be hope;
let him give his cheek to the one who strikes,
and let him be filled with insults.
For the Lord will not
cast off forever,
but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion
according to the abundance of his steadfast love;
for he does not willingly afflict
or grieve the children of men. (ESV)

It is interesting to note that Christians are some of the most impatient people that exist. We want the Lord to work in our lives, and sometimes we treat the Lord like some Genie should answer our every beck and call. We need to understand what patience really means. God works in his time for a specific purpose. In reading these verses, it is clear our Christian life would be propelled just by the exercise of waiting to see the will of God unfold. We need to let patience have her perfect work (James 1:4).
