James 4:6-10
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. (ESV)

Submit. That is a very loaded word. A definition states: “To yield or surrender (oneself) to the will or authority of another.” Can you say that you have submitted your self to the will of God? James tells us that we need to do that. It is time that people of God return to their first love. The Devil wants to have his way with us and he can when we fail to submit to God. Our life is not our own, we were bought with a price. “Submit yourselves therefore to God.”
