Luke 2:46-50
After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.” And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?” And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. (ESV)

Do you know any twelve-year-olds? What do they like to do? The twelve-year-olds I know like to play video games, skateboard, rollerblade, or are beginning to fuss over what they wear and how they look. Few of them like to read and study; they would rather be with their friends than doing homework or studying the Bible. When our Savior was twelve, we find him teaching in the temple courts, amongst scholars and teachers. While boys in biblical times were beginning to learn the ways of becoming a man, no one would listen to a boy teaching adults, especially in the temple! Yet there was Jesus, teaching and holding the attention of educated men. As you are teachable, God will also be able to use you to teach others his word and wisdom.
