Luke 12:22-24
And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! (ESV)

The thing that I often fail to remember is that God promises to take care of us and give us everything we need. He does not promise to give us everything we want or think we need. I need to be reminded of this often as I see the things of this world that are desirable to me and I make myself believe that I need them. When I focus on the basic needs that I have, I see that God has provided them abundantly, and I never lack for those needs.
