Luke 12:25-26
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? (ESV)
by Paula Davis
It has been proven that worry can shorten our lifespan. Stress and worry have been shown to contribute to hypertension, cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance, and autoimmune disorders, not to mention more sleepless nights. God points this out to us, and asks us if we can’t lengthen our lifespan by worrying, why bother? I wish I worried less and was more content with what God gives me. To be content is to be satisfied, comfortable, even pleased with the circumstances in which we find ourselves.
