Luke 12:29-31
And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. (ESV)

When did our society become so focused on food? It seems that every event is centered around food, and actually we really don’t need any event to “pig out” on a feast. Few of us go many hours without eating a meal, or at least a snack. My problem is that I usually eat because I want food, not because I need it. My goal for this week is to try to seek his kingdom more than I seek out food. When I get the “munchies,” I’m going to try to turn to his Word instead of turning to the kitchen. Hopefully after weeks of practicing this, I’ll begin to allow God to worry about what I eat instead of worrying about it myself.
