Luke 10:4-7

Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. (ESV)

by Paula Davis

If we offer peace to someone and they reject it, we should not take it personally, nor should we let their rejections affect the peacefulness of our countenance. The peace of God is one of the wonders people see when they look at children of God. When non-Christians are tormented or lack peace in their own lives, the peace that Christians have baffles them. Only the peace of God can change the atmosphere in a room, comfort someone when there are no words, and show people a side of God they can never see if we do not allow the peace of God to reign within us.
