Psalm 139:1-6
139:1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it. (ESV)

This is one of my favorite Psalms as it reminds me how well God knows me. Sometimes it is uncomfortable to know that he is so familiar with me as it is impossible to hide anything from him. But mostly I am comforted by knowing that there is One whom I can turn to whatever situation I am in and he understands. And knowing that when I don’t have the words to express what I’m feeling that I don’t need words, for he already knows them. It is almost impossible to fathom that God knows each one of us this intimately. He created us and will surround us with his love when we open ourselves to him.
