Psalm 150
150:1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!
Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! (ESV)
by Linda Harris
Where are we to praise God? In church, in nature, and in our hearts—“through his own holy influence in your hearts” (Adam Clarke’s Commentary). For what are we to praise him? For his power, his mighty acts, and his greatness. How are we to praise him? With all kinds of instruments, with singing, and with dancing. Who is to praise him? Everything that has breath. How does your praise measure up to this pattern?
