Psalm 121:1-4

121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep. (ESV)

by Linda Harris

Living in Colorado, it’s easy to lift my eyes to the mountains from both my front and back yards. In those mountains, people from a variety of religions visit prayer caves, camps, retreats, ashrams, and stupas. But there is only one Creator of the mountains, to whom I look for help.

The mountains remind me daily of my relationship with the Maker of heaven and earth. But I sometimes get so busy rushing from one place to another, I forget to lift my eyes to the hills and drink in their beauty. Take some time this week to contemplate the beauty of nature and praise your Creator God.
