Hebrews 1:13-14

And to which of the angels has he ever said,

“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? (ESV)

by Leota Stevens

We discussed some of the issues that establish the deity of Christ in Wednesday’s lesson. These next two verses allow us a peek into the future, and they underscore the position of authority that Jesus holds vs. the position of ministering that is held by the angels.

Not one angelic being ever has heard, or ever will hear, the words, “Sit at My right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.” Jesus has heard those words—and is waiting the final fulfillment of them.
