Hebrews 10:11-14

And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. (ESV)

Some things in life are repetitive (house cleaning, bathing, dressing, eating). These things have to be done on a daily basis to ensure a certain order in our lives. You can’t eat once and expect that to last forever. If you bathed or dressed only once in your life, I’m sure it would adversely affect your social life. If you only cleaned your home the first day you owned it and then never cleaned it again, you would at one point be buried alive, or find the neighborhood beautification committee and code enforcement knocking on your door.
