Philippians 3:17-21

Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. I recently designed a flier for the Boy Scout Troop where my husband is the Scout Master. I worked on my computer for several hours with a new graphics program trying to get the perfect look for this document. When I finally achieved the look I wanted, I sent it to the printer, only to find out that I had chosen the wrong template and I had to go back to the designing board and start the process over. The second time it was successful because I followed the right pattern. In following the example of other Christians, it is wise to pick your patterns carefully—be sure they “walk-the-walk,” not just “talk-the-talk.” When this life has run its course, it’s comforting to know that we will be fashioned and conformed to the most perfect pattern of all—our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
