John 13:1-2a
13:1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him, (ESV)

It is reassuring to know that someone loves you and that they have a faithful heart toward you. John allows a tiny glimpse at the heart of Jesus in these words. His love is constant and enduring and personal to those who are his own. His unfailing love is the bedrock on which our own lives can be securely established.
