James 1:9-11

Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away. For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits. (ESV)

by Leota Stevens

Boy, does this place things in perspective! So many people work and fight and claw their way through life seeking fortune and fame. They become obsessed with money and their purchasing power. The appearance of wealth is so important to them. James helps us to view things from God’s point of view. Wealth doesn’t last; wisdom from God is eternal and enriches your life in all the ways that really count.
