James 3:17-18

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (ESV)

by Leota Stevens

I love these verses; they are so full of hope and power and truth. Theses verses are the template for all our conduct. If we are empowered by God’s wisdom, there will be mercy in our dealings with others. Rigidity, harshness, partiality and hypocrisy will be replaced by a willingness to yield, gentleness, acceptance of others and truthful interactions. Everything that paves the way to peace is resident in the wisdom of God. Perhaps as we seek this in our own lives, we should prayerfully request it for the leaders of our world.
