James 4:8-10
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. (ESV)

Once we have escaped the confines of the enemy’s camp and made our way back where we belong, we had better not get cocky. We may need to enter the Commander’s personal tent and pursue some de-briefing. We need to find out where we got off track and make it our committed mission to clean up that area to guard against re-infiltration by the enemy. Promotion is given to those who have humbled themselves before the Lord.
