Ephesians 5:8-11

for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (ESV)

by Leota Stevens

If all the instructions in life were as direct as these verses, many a frustrating headache would be prevented. As children of God, who have been rescued from the darkness of sin, we are to live our lives in the light of God’s mercy and wisdom. No more crossing over to the dark side. No Darth Vader experiences. If we are busy finding out what is acceptable to our Lord and Savior, we have no time for associating with the Devil. When we find out what is right, we will by comparison realize what is wrong. That knowledge must be shared with others to help them steer clear of the pitfalls that lay along a darkened path.
