2 Timothy 3:14-17
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. Once we have learned the truth, we are accountable for that knowledge. In the classes that I teach, the students are held accountable for material we cover in class. Generally, I have them practice a new concept with a partner or we work in a group and go over answers to be sure that everyone understands. Often, they have independent work which is an opportunity to practice new knowledge and show their understanding of it. Then, there is always the test, where their understanding of material is evaluated. In our lives as Christians, we are held accountable for what we have been taught. Often, we are given a chance to work with a partner or to have someone guide us through discipleship. Later we might have to try things on our own and then there are those times when our faith is tested. As Christians, we need to live out our knowledge of the Lord and his saving grace—and we need to continue to grow and learn more.
