Psalm 30:1-5

30:1 I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
and you have healed me.
O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;
you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning. (ESV)

by Angie Osborn

The “night” in our lives often holds darkness and tears. Sometimes, it is just hard to be here on earth and take in all that it has to offer. But, joy comes in the morning! We can rest in the light of Christ and the joy that he brings. When our pain, doubts or fears creep up on us, we can rejoice because the Lord’s light is more powerful than any darkness. When we place our trust in him and place ourselves in his hands, we are free of the darkness and can walk in his light and rejoice!
