Proverbs 7:1-5

7:1 My son, keep my words
and treasure up my commandments with you;
keep my commandments and live;
keep my teaching as the apple of your eye;
bind them on your fingers;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
and call insight your intimate friend,
to keep you from the forbidden woman,
from the adulteress with her smooth words. (ESV)

Losing your eyesight is a life-changing experience. Things that we once did without thought now require help from someone else. Do we sometimes take God’s commandments for granted too? We know they are there but we also know that he will forgive us when we stray from them. Just like losing our eyesight requires us to change our lifestyle and ask for help, we need to change how we view God’s commandments and ask for His help in keeping them. Let’s pray today that we can guard God’s commandments and keep them in our hearts.
