Thought StarterAs Paul thought about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he knew it had changed his life. He’d been a rising star. The leaders of his group had noted his zeal. Beyond the zeal, they’d noted his ability to get things done. Paul’s performance in Jerusalem had been impressive, the church had been scattered. They were excited about what he might accomplish next. Their expectations were never met. Jesus knocked Paul for a loop, took his sight, and let him sit for three days. Then, after a brief flurry of activity, Paul went home and spent several years sorthing things out. When Barnabas came, Paul was ready. He taught the Jews first. He taught the god-fearing gentiles. He taught the full-fledged gentiles. He taught the heathen. He taught the educated. He taught the uneducated. He found ways to meet people he’d never met before. He traveled from east to west and back. He planned to stand before the emperor. And did all of this because of Jesus, whose way Paul had initially rejected. He taught believers and he taught unbelievers. He was willing to do what it cost to preach the Gospel. Has Jesus changed your life? Are you willing to do what He asks of you? Will you tell others that God is excellent? |
![]() Evangelism Logo InformationThe 2011 Christian Education Sabbath is scheduled for the Sabbath immediately following Labor Day (Sabbath, September 10, 2011). The theme of this year's Christian Education Sabbath is Evangelism. This year's support material includes a bulletin cover, bulletin insert, a children's message, a skit, a responsive reading, and a puzzle page. These are designed to fit within a worship service that is emphasizing the importance finding ways to grow together in Christ by acting in evangelism. Don't miss the skit. It can be quite helpful in illustrating the importance of Sabbath School in evangelism. |
