—Zephaniah 3:8-13

God promised to pour out His anger in the midst of the wickedness taking place in Jerusalem. The fire of His jealousy would devour the earth. The sobering part of all this is that He also promised to preserve a remnant of His people. In Genesis chapter 18, Abraham pleaded with God to save Sodom if He found righteous souls there. He asked, “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked” (v.23, NIV)? God agreed that if ten righteous were found, He would not destroy Sodom—sad to say He did not find ten. Will we be a part of that remnant that God will preserve and restore?
