—Job 1:8-11, 13-22
by: Andrea Pozo.
When someone is going through a difficult time, it is easy to assume that the person did something to deserve such difficulties. This was not the case with Job. In a matter of minutes, he found out about multiple tragedies involving his property, his servants, and even his children. How did he respond? He tore his clothes and shaved his head as a sign of sadness and mourning. However, he did something else amid his tragedy: “He fell to the ground and worshiped” (v.20). If we examine our hearts, how likely is it that worshiping and blessing the name of the Lord would be our first reaction when something terrible happens to us?
