—2 Kings 25:1-12

This passage paints a picture of utter destruction. All of the important buildings were burned, including the Temple, and anything of value was taken from the city. Are there any areas of your life where you can relate to what the Israelites must have felt when Jerusalem was destroyed? The passage also says that some of the poor people and vineyards were left untouched. What do you imagine it would be like to be one of those people? What do you think it would have felt like to follow God in a time like that? How do you think you would have responded to prophets like Jeremiah?
