—Acts 6:8-15
by: Dale Rood.
When we have to stand up for what is just and true, God will be glorified through us. When confronting unjust opposition, we must trust God to give us the words we need to say (Mark 13:11). The people around us may not recognize God’s glory, or at least they may not acknowledge that they recognize it. We may not be treated justly. Stephen surely was not. But if we look closely at verse 15, we can see that God was glorified in Stephen’s situation. He was filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 7:55, see also Mark 13:11 again). When that happens, people will notice and remember. Consider Saul in Acts 8:1.
