—1 Peter 3:8-12
by: Joy Choquette.
“Did you see what she’s wearing?” “I heard he lost his job...again.” It is so easy to find fault with other people, isn’t it? Even in the church...maybe especially in the church. After all, Christians should “know better” than the average Joe, right? Peter reminded us in this passage that being sympathetic, like-minded, compassionate, and loving toward others—especially those in our church family—are what we need to strive for. But why? So that we can feel good about ourselves and earn brownie points or extra gems in our crowns in heaven? No! Because God’s eyes are on us and He desires unity and love among His people.
