—Micah 5:1-15
by: Gabrielle Watt.
Isaiah 55:8 tells us that God thinks differently than man does, which we can see shown throughout this message of hope in Micah. Naturally, one might assume that the Messiah would come from an extraordinarily affluent place. God could have chosen anywhere for the Messiah to come from, but He chose the small, unassuming town of Bethlehem. What does this choice tell us about God and His plans? As we read towards the end of the passage, we learn that the Lord will cut off sorceries and carved images. Why would He cut off horses, chariots, and cities as well?
