—Ephesians 4:25-32

“Speak the truth and speak it ever, cost it what it will,” are lines I remember learning as a child. Paul addressed truth speaking in verse 25. In the previous verses, Paul encouraged us to live as children of light because we are new creatures. We must notice that the old self will not automatically fall away—we must take action and put it off. Part of the putting off includes putting off falsehood and speaking truthfully. We should do so because lying disrupts unity and creates discord. Be honest, gracefully and lovingly. Stop being fake! Honor God by speaking and living the truth.
