If anyone returns evil for good,
evil will not depart from his house.
The beginning of strife is like letting out water,
so quit before the quarrel breaks out.
He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous
are both alike an abomination to the LORD.
Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom
when he has no sense?
A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity.

—Proverbs 17:13-17
by: Lisa Moore.
The proverbs of Solomon were written for the readers to know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, and knowledge and discretion to the youth (Proverbs 1:1-4). Reading one chapter of this book per day, in addition to other passages, has been extremely helpful in helping me to stay out of trouble. God is not sleeping! There are consequences for doing evil, starting strife, letting the guilty go free, and condemning the innocent. As believers, we must not engage in these activities. Let us only love and help one other.
