—Psalm 19
The watchmaker argument for the existence of God posits that if you found a watch—an intricately designed piece of working machinery—lying on the ground, you would assume someone had made it rather than that the pieces just fell into place by accident. In the same way, we should not be able to look at our world and its intricate life and ecosystems and assume that came together by chance. In Psalm 19, David said if you look at the skies, you see miracles, beauty, and evidence of God’s glory all around. Despite having no words, the world loudly proclaims there is a God. I use this as inspiration to slow down, look at, and take in the world around me.
