Whether they are infants unable to communicate with anything other than demanding cries, toddlers with incessant “why” questions, or teenagers pushing the boundaries of respect as they try to find their place in the world, children demand patience. That is why Jesus’ parable in today’s passage is such a wonderful example of how God views all relationships, and how He expects us to deal with others (children and adults alike). Like children, God treats us with compassionate and grace-filled patience. Recognizing this should motivate us to treat others the same way.
