—Isaiah 43:1-7
by: Jasmine Lynch.
How it grieves God when His children turn from doing right. He allowed Israel to face the consequences of their rebellion, but He did not abandon them. The same promised redemption for Israel is extended to us: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you” (v.1, NKJV). He sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to redeem us. Historically, God exchanged with Persia other nations for the Jews return to their homeland. Although Isaiah was speaking to Israel, the text has universal implications to all of mankind. For we know we are “precious and honored” (v.4) in God’s sight because He loves us. He is counting on our obedience.
