—Amos 5:10-15
by: Katie Brown.
God desires for His people to be different from the world. It is easy to fall into the trap of putting ourselves first, but we are called to help the poor and the fatherless. God pointed out that even the prudent man was keeping silent during the mistreatment of the poor, highlighting the truth: doing nothing is not an option. Amos pleaded with the people to, “Seek good and not evil, that you may live” (v.14). Ignoring is not good. Silence is not good. We are to actively seek good and change to make a difference for the Kingdom.
