—Matthew 9:27-38
by: Kay Samuels.
The Gospels provide evidence of Jesus caring for the helpless. In today’s reading, He took particular care of two blind men and a mute, demon-possessed man. The text further states that Jesus continued to minister to needs as He went through the towns (v.36). Jesus still has compassion on the helpless today. He works through our hands. Jesus did not just tell the disciples what to do—He led by example; He demonstrated what He expected them to do. We are His hands. Let us represent Jesus well. There are souls to rescue. Can Jesus count on you and me to continue His work of compassion?
