—Mark 11:1-10
by: Joy Choquette.
Imagine being the very first one to ride a horse or donkey: what would be the likely outcome—getting bucked or thrown off at least once, if not several times, right? Yet in this passage of Scripture, Jesus was very clear that His disciples should get a donkey colt, “which no one has ever ridden” (Mark 11:2). Imagine the calm, peaceful, and loving presence of Jesus in the form of a man. When the disciples led the colt to Him, can you almost see its jitteriness leaving the donkey? Can you imagine its ears perking up, it giving a whicker of pleasure when Jesus laid His hand on its neck? How blessed we are to be loved by a Lord filled with such love and compassion.
