—1 Samuel 1:1-11
by: Stephanie Sholtz.
Hannah could easily have become bitter, been adversarial back to Peninnah by pointing out how Elkanah favored her, or blamed God for not giving her children—ultimately pushing God away. Instead she sought after God. She did not feast with the others, choosing instead to weep, fast, and pray. In her anger and anguish, she sought God and asked Him to see and remember her. Hannah allowed herself to be drawn near to God in her pain and to remember who He is. What a valuable lesson for us.
