—Luke 18:9-14
by: Sheri Rood.
My husband, Phil, and I walk down to the railroad tracks nearly every day to watch the passenger train go through in the morning and evening. We often take trash bags with us to pick up trash and pet waste people leave behind. We can easily get angry and judgmental about these people and make assumptions about their spiritual state. We can all find reasons to be self-righteous, and in so doing we are praying to ourselves. We are all equally unworthy of God’s grace and mercy. Let us come before Him today in humility and praise of His righteousness, recognizing and admitting our own sinfulness. When we do, we come away justified.
