—Zechariah 7:8-14
by: Gem Barton.
God sent Zechariah to tell His people that He did not like what he saw when He looked down. The widows and orphans were being treated unjustly; the stranger and poor were being oppressed; injustice ran rampant. Does this sound familiar? God said since they were not listening to Him, He would not hear them when they called out to Him but instead He would scatter them. This may seem harsh, but God’s laws were being ignored and there are consequences for that (see Proverbs 1:24 -28). If you hear the voice of God, harken to it and obey His commands. Obey the voice of God and avoid judgement.
