—Romans 9:6-16
by: Cheri Appel.
This passage clarifies that God designated the children of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac, and Jacob as the bloodline of the promised Messiah. Why did God specifically choose these ancestors for His only begotten Son? Paul emphasized in this message that it is not based on judgement, but rather God’s mercy. After all, He offers salvation and forgiveness to everyone through Jesus’s sacrifice. Paul was writing to the Roman Christians. Apparently, they needed to know that God did not choose randomly. Rather, He had a great plan, including many miracles, to produce our Savior. Should we also include these truths in our testimony in order to win others to Christ?
