The Bible Says:

His Steadfast Love Endures Forever (Listen)

  Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
    for his steadfast love endures forever!
  Let Israel say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
  Let the house of Aaron say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
  Let those who fear the LORD say,
    “His steadfast love endures forever.”
  Out of my distress I called on the LORD;
    the LORD answered me and set me free.
  The LORD is on my side; I will not fear.
    What can man do to me?
  The LORD is on my side as my helper;
    I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.
  It is better to take refuge in the LORD
    than to trust in man.
  It is better to take refuge in the LORD
    than to trust in princes.

—Psalm 118:1-9

And here is a thought:

by: Dorothy Noel.

b'

Taking refuge in God is the only surefire safety. Only His lovingkindness has the power to sustain and fortify us. Only He can promise safety for eternity. This psalm emphasizes the greatness of God in contrast to the power of people. It is easy to look around at people with power and resources and see them as those who will be able to protect or destroy us. Yet this psalm reminds us that God is the arbiter of conflict and that only He controls the fates of men. Taking refuge within Him is the only place of true safety.
