—Acts 15:36-41

Barnabas and Paul had made a great team, but then there was that "famous departure" due to their differing ideas. Yes, they separated because they had differing ideas, but read that again. What a "coincidence" that they separated, found other believers to work with and then went on to cover twice the ground that they could have had they stayed together. Because Barnabas believed in John (Mark), and believed that he was up to the task of ministry, the opportunities for ministry were expanded. In effect, Barnabas gave John (Mark) a second chance. As growing Christians, we will all make mistakes. Rather than giving up on each other, we should use those times as opportunities for growth and character building-and even expanding ministries!
