Jerusalem's joy was so great that it could be heard from far away! In a passage proclaiming the joy and celebration going on in Jerusalem, there is mention of tithe, first fruits and setting aside portions. Could that mean that tithing and setting aside a portion are acts of worship? How easy it is to put tithing on the back burner; it should be a priority. We should tithe out of obedience; God has asked us to tithe. We should tithe as an act of celebration-we have because he so freely gives to us. That is something to celebrate! We should tithe as an act of worship. We can give to the Lord as an act of our humbleness before him and his greatness before us. He deserves our first fruits; he deserves our best! This Sabbath, as you have opportunity to give to the Lord, do it as an act of obedience, an act of worship, and an act of celebration!
