—Psalm 96:1-6
by: Susan Bond.
Fresh-baked, day-old, or stale? Which bread would you like if you had the luxury of choosing?
Spiritually speaking, we do have that luxury. God’s mercies, like manna, are new every morning. Nothing can replace time spent at the mercy seat, feeding on the Bread of Life. Done on a daily basis, we find our hearts filled with new songs. When we miss a day, we begin to hit sour notes (Some people may like sour-dough bread, but sour notes?). Praise you, God, for faithfully greeting us every morning with new songs. May we hungrily take time to hear them and echo them back to you with thankful, filled hearts (Exodus 16:14,15; John 6:48-51; Zephaniah 3:17b).
