Is it lawful to do good or evil on the Sabbath? Jesus challenged the Pharisees with a simple question. They dared not answer his question because they were trapped by their own legalism. To obey their tradition would mean allowing people to suffer because of the law. So they said nothing, and Jesus healed. This angered them to the point of plotting his murder.
As Sabbath-keepers, we often need guidelines for keeping God's day holy. Here is a good example: To let someone suffer because of the law violates God's intentions. Don't let traditions keep you from helping someone in need, even on the Sabbath.
