—Mark 10:46-52

I am convinced that Jesus was trying to teach the disciples an important lesson about the true nature of faith in this miracle. They just had been spending time arguing over power and authority while ignoring his words concerning the coming crucifixion. Upon leaving Jericho, they encountered this blind beggar who had nothing. The only thing he could do was cry out for help.
Jesus rewarded this simple faith by healing the man. The verb in the Greek means to save, heal, rescue from danger. There is thus spiritual application. This man who knew he was blind asked Jesus for sight. The disciples did not know they were blind. He received complete healing. They had to wait until their faith was more complete.
