Paul said if they had understood the wisdom of our God, they would not have crucified Jesus (v.8); maybe that is why He spoke in parables. Jesus needed to teach about the kingdom, but He also needed to ensure that the plan of salvation was carried out. The same wisdom that allowed God to carry out the plan of the cross gave Paul the ability to speak and write eloquently. When we recognize where this power comes from, we do not need to be afraid when we are sent to minister to others, no matter their status. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5, NIV).'
